Summer Classes

7 Week Summer Session 2011
July 5th- August 22nd

Our summer session is less formal than our program during the school year. As we have fewer dancers who continue to train over the summer, many classes are a combination of levels. Teachers are aware they will be working with different levels and will have prepared accordingly. This is a great opportunity for intermediate dancers to get more of a challenge, or for advanced dancers to perfect their technique. Our Summer Session is also a great time to try out a new discipline as the dancer is only committed to seven weeks. The dancer will then have an advantage if they continue in the fall as they will already have experience in this new discipline. We understand that summer is a busy time for everyone, but we strongly encourage all of our dancers to continue their training over the summer as this enables quicker improvement in all disciplines. The ability to dance well is perfected through muscle memory, and a two-month break is a definite set back to progress. We hope to see you in class this summer!

6-7:30pm Open Modern Level 4 through Adult
7:30-8:30pm Open Hip Hop Level 4 through Adult

Wednesday:
5:15-6pm Pointe for Ballet 4 through Adult
6-7:30pm Ballet for Ballet 4 through Adult

Thursday:
5:15-6pm Stretch and Strengthen
6-7:30pm Ballet 4 through Adult Ballet
7:30-8:30pm Open Lyrical for Level 4 through Adult

Five-Week Rate for dancers in the 2-week Summer Intensive: $235

There is no refund for tuition. Missed classes can be made up in another class. Please ask an instructor for recommendations if you are unsure about which class to take.

Attire
Although our dress code is relaxed in the summer, dancers will still need appropriate dance attire. Ballet students need to wear a leotard with pink tights and ballet slippers. Uniform colors are not required in the summer. Ballet dancers can also wear skirts. Please keep warm-up attire to minimum. Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Modern dancers will need leotards and Jazz pants or shorts. Black Jazz shoes are required for Hip Hop. The studios are very hot in the summer and it is suggested that all dancers bring hand towels and lots of water to class.

Classes will be taught by Dimensions in Dance Faculty including Amy Fortier, Maria Bradbury, Mari Streitburger, and Ashley Carrier.
